Meat Axe track on new Zenon compilation
Our breaks project, which we’ve decided to break off under the name “Meat Axe”, has a track coming out on the new Zenon compilation, Permutations Vol. 2. Needless to say, we’re stoked. Samples are here.
The original Permutations released on Zenon in 2004 is considered a seminal release in the minimal-progressive genre. Permutations Vol.2 retains the concept of the original, yet takes it even further. This is made possible by technological advances and the dedication of the Zenon crew to push their own musical boundaries. With a host of newcomers aboard plus all the Zenon stalwarts, this album contains 10 tracks of fresh, technical progressive that you don’t want to miss!

Lenovo’s IdeaPad S10 is a pretty hot live rig
I recently got my hands on a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 for a couple of weeks through work, and I’m happy to report that it will work beautifully with MOTU (and presumably, most other FireWire-based-) interfaces once you’ve found a Texas Instruments-based ExpressCard-to-FireWire adapter.
I’m seriously considering getting one for a new live rig, as I’m sick of my 17″ MacBook Pro and my MOTU taking up most of my carry-on allowance on flights.

We’re still doing that album…
I know we’ve been saying this for about four years, but we are honestly working on that (psytrance) album. We’ve been pretty side-tracked with the breakbeat stuff for a while now, but we have eight psy tracks chosen that are dancefloor-tested and almost complete - and last week I started the incredibly painful and time consuming process of moving the projects from Logic 5.5.1 on my old PC to Logic 8.0.2 on my MacBook Pro for a final polish and mixdown.
